Life in Fairfield
Sitting along the Kennebec River is the town of Fairfield, Maine. It is in the heart of Maine's Kennebec Valley and East of the Belgrade Lakes. It's close location to US 202 and I95 make traveling to and from the city a breeze. Fairfield has many thriving businesses and a charming historic downtown area. There are a few neighborhoods including Fairfield Center, Fairfield Village, and Hinckley. Just outside of Fairfield is the city of Waterville, a popular spot for shopping, dining, and many other cultural and recreational activities.
Fairfield is a close-knit community with easy access to outdoor fun and recreation. Being so close to the Belgrade Lakes and right on the Kennebec River, Fairfield's residents can take advantage of water sports, fishing, and more. There are parks within the town, including Mill Island Park, and in the surrounding areas that have hiking trails, space for sports, and picnic areas. Year-round, Fairfield has a farmers' market that supports local farmers and artisans from Fairfield and other Central Maine towns. There is also an annual chocolate festival in February and Summer concerts that help to bring the community together.
Fairfield Schools
From grade school to higher education, Fairfield offers its residents many educational opportunities. Local children attend Fairfield Primary, Lawerence Junior High, and Lawrence High School. Kennebec Valley Community College is in Fairfield and is one of the seven community colleges run by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.
