Life in Sidney
Sidney, Maine is located along the banks of the Kennebec River between the cities of Augusta and Waterville. This gives the town's residents easy access to additional jobs, shops, dining options, and more. Sidney is a rapidly growing community and has held onto its strong agricultural roots. To this day, there are a number of working farms in the area and the town has a rural charm. Along with the Kennebec River, Messalonskee Lake is in Sidney and a popular spot for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and other water recreation during the warmer months.
Sidney Schools
Sidney children attend the James H. Bean School from kindergarten to fifth grade, sixth through eighth graders attend Messalonskee Middle School in Oakland, and high schoolers attend Messalonskee High School also in Oakland. Sidney is a member of the RSU 18 school district.
